Peterson and Marshall Engagement

I had the pleasure of photographing an engagement session for my best friend, Andrew and his beautiful fiance Jenna this weekend. Andrew and I grew up together in Waikoloa on the Big Island of Hawaii. It's been a few years since we've seen each other, and over a decade since Andrew visited Bend so it was so nice to have them visit, even if it was a short trip. I've known Andrew for 25 years and I have never seen him happier. Congrats, you two!

Engagement sessions and wedding photography are the future of my photography business. I have a year left to complete my Bachelors in Business Management at OSU Cascades. Upon completion, I will be a full time photographer, which is of course very exciting!

Thank you, as always, for reading and following my photo journalistic journey.

Tintype Photography

Tintype Photography

Big news! Well, for me it is. I purchased my first medium format camera a few months ago. I did so in the interest of slowing down the photographic process.  Moving from digital to film wasn't slow enough. My main purpose in buying a 4x5 camera was to learn the art of tintype photography. This process was very popular in the 90's; the 1890's. I decided to travel to Portland at the end of the month to learn the Tintype photography process from the one and onl, Ray Bidegain! I will be looking for volunteers who would like to pose for a tintype portrait as I continue to learn the process. If you're interested please email me at

Don't know what tintype photography is? Here is a great explanation of the tintype process from the guy's at Tested
